Feelings: who needs them?

It’s really that simple. But the feeling thing often gets in the way. The fear we talked about last week; the seemingly helpful people cautioning you against more fear down the line. They mean well. But don’t listen. They like you just as you are because you’re like them. Remember this from Rob Siltanen:

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

You’re a crazy one. I know that because you’re here. You’re hiding in with the ‘normal’ people because it’s safe, but you have that underlying feeling of wanting more. It’s time to embrace your crazy and let that B out!

So how do you know what you truly want? It’s time to do some thinking. And writing. Which ultimately means it’s time to go the stationary store (if you don’t have a stockpile of journals from previous visits as I might…) – hooray!

Answer these questions:

  • What gets you truly excited?
  • What do you do in your downtime?
  • What keeps you up at night because you’re way to excited to go to sleep
  • What do you listen to on podcasts, or learn about in books?

Be honest with yourself and track your answers. A recurring theme will come up that will help guide you to being what you really want.

Are you not sure how eating cookies and learning about neuroscience fit together? Do some (more) research! Of the top of my head I can think about how nutrients effect our brain chemicals, so what of you created a cookie that made you smarter (and tasted great) just through research?

Where there is a want (and a will) there is most certainly a way! So, what do you want?
